Tribal Tribulations - Elements and Rituals

This is our homeland, our refuge. This is all we have known for longer than we can remember. We have all been blessed by the Great Spirits and given an Other, an animal that lives in us and changes our bodies and gives us an element, the ability to do something more than the animals around us...

The wolves that live in this place have never been anything but the top of the food chain, never had to survive against more than nature itself. They have been gifted with Others and given elements and, despite their division, they are strong. There are two tribes, each with its own belief, and each with its own set of rules. Each time a puppy matures, an Other finds it and instinct guides it to its rightful pack. Where will you end up?

Hey, I got an advertisement for this site, and overall, i'm impressed. The skin is great, same with the layout.

I read all of the rules, and they seem reasonable. I was able to understand most of them, except for two parts.

Elements and Rituals.

The Rituals I pretty much figured out, but i'm still kinda confused. Do you rp the rituals? Are all wolves born loners, then they join a Tribe? Please explain it a bit more to me.

Now, the elements really confused me? I was reading it, and I was totally lost. Also, could you tell a bit more about Others?

Sorry if i'm asking too many questions. I'm naturally curious, plus I have a little ADHD. I really want to join, I just don't think I can until I understand more.

Yeah, I understand. I had a bit of trouble with those parts when i first joined as well. But lucky for me, I had the admin right there in the cbox waiting to answer my questions.

Others:
If you have read or know of the daemons in Phillip Pullman's novels in the His Dark Materials trilogy. If you haven't, it is pretty much just another animal that is a part of your wolf. Their personalities can be similar or they can balance eachother out, fill in where the other lacks, etc. On this site, only the wolf can see their own Other, not those of other wolves. An Other becomes present after a wolf pup is sent to a pack after the ritual. They take the shape of any animal though the animal usually has something to do with a part of either the wolf's or the Other's personality. Sometimes they are simply a voice in the wolf's head or sometimes they are visible as kind of a ghostly or life-like outside the wolf's head. But again, only the owner of the Other can hear them speaking. Most wolves have only one Other, but, in rare cases, and with 2500 points, your wolf can have an additional Other.

Elements:
A wolf's other has an influence on the element they grow into. Again, personality of both parties plays a big part. If your wolf is a fighter, or likes the darker things in life, they might control shadows. Or, if they are happy-go-lucky and just enjoy things, they might be earth or air. There is an innumeral list of elements that can be chosen from. For picking one, I suggest reading a few from the bios already accepted. But, basically, an element is just one thing that your wolf can control, or is learning to control.

Rituals:
As far as I know, these are not RPed. Pups, at a young age, are taken to a different location than that of their parents and the pack. They are raised with other pups until they come to a certain age that their personalities are judged and they are seperated into one of two packs: Dansei and Miakale. Dansei are more peaceful and enjoy life, thanking the Spirits for things by living. Miakale are more forceful; They thank and praise the spirits by killing things in their name. If you make an adult character, the admin will choose the pack based on the wolf's and the Other's personality.
